- My post last week was quite appropriate because as always when it snows in Great Britain everything grinds to a halt We have had over a £1000 worth of carpet cleaning work cancel today and after my experiences of last year having had my van banged up twice I would rather wait until the snow and ice clear.
I purchased some snow socks came today but the problem in GB is there is no law forcing people to take such measures as using snow chains or snow socks in such conditions and some drivers are clueless they don’t realise until it’s too late just how much damage a vehicle sliding on ice at just 10mph can dohttp://www.carpet-cleaning-chelmsford.co.uk/

You certainly look like you’re a big strong lad ! with a neck that size I reckon you could strap a truck mount to your back and and straddle the water tanks to your flanks at the same time! Love your sense of humor…. But I did not say I was earning a grand a day! I said (quote…. had over a £1000 pounds worth of work cancel today) that’s today work and tomorrows and someone cancelled a job on Thursday….. Wish I did earn that in a day…. would be in Florida right now sunning it up…..it just too risky taking out a fully laden truck mounted transit van! if someone drives into you like they did to me last year you are stuffed it cost us two weeks work last year loss of no claims and £350 excess because the DIPSTICK WAS NOT INSURED

Same old story! Bit of snow the country comes to a standstill….. earnings come to a halt!
Just had a call from a fellow carpet cleaner Chelmsford based they got stuck for several hours earlier today!
I had been thinking about buying some snow chains for our transit vans especially the truck mount after having a couple of nasty experiences earlier on this year but opted at the end of the day for ordering snow socks am still awaiting delivery! Any one reading this blog had experience of using them?
Most clients are cancelling and who can blame them who want carpet cleaners tramping in and out of their homes with such inclement weather.
The main consideration for us as carpet cleaners Essex throughout the county is keeping the van intact driving to and from customers houses ! We ended up cancelling several days work because the driving conditions around Essex became so hazardous it was like skating on ice around some of the smaller roads and after several incidents resulting in damage to the van we all decided it was not worth the risk especially considering the potential for injury getting in and out of homes carrying equipment.
So lets hope the cold snap and snow go away quickly

It’s that time of year again for the Southend On Sea air show and the huge crowds it attracts each year! There are Red arrows this time round they are grounded! I always look forward to seeing them perform! I do like Southend and its neighbouring areas places like Leigh on Sea , Chalkwell, Thorpe Bay, Rochford and Hockley they have a great deal to offer us as local carpet cleaners Southend on Sea based due to the fact there are some very desirable properties many of them in the high price end of the property market. Hi everyone
Driving to and from several different locations a day in a van with over a metric ton of truck mounted carpet cleaning equipment and water tanks has become far to hazardous, the side roads are sheets of ice in places and the pathways and driveways to and from peoples homes are a hazard in their own right for carrying the hoses and carpet cleaning tools from the van to the clients house! (No one seems to clear their pathways any more from the snow) the main culprits though are the people sitting snug in their local government jobs who have a responsibility to make sure our roads are safe they still get paid if they cannot get to work! Self employed Essex carpet cleaners don’t!

Would just like to thank you all of for the continued support of our carpet cleaning business in Essex over the last 12 months. Its been nice to see many of the clients come back on a regular basis each year so we must be doing our work of cleaning Rugs carpets and upholstery to your satisfaction or you would not be calling us back.
It has been a testing year with a very slow start building up to a crescendo in the last 3 weeks and boy have we been busy even the old maestro has been out cleaning he even managed a large 3 piece suite cleaning on a Sunday just to make sure we could fit every one in before the Christmas break.
The snow and resultant icy conditions proved very trying for us carrying out our work as carpet cleaners in Essex as it was very dangerous for us to get to and from some places but we managed to get to every one almost on time which was a result considering the atrocious conditions.
Hope you enjoyed your Christmas and we would like to wish you well for the New Year from all the crew at Carpet Cleaners Essex.
